Emma Warburton, Contralto

We are delighted to have Emma Warburton singing alto 1 as a guest for our Queen of Heaven programme.

Emma is a contralto who enjoys discovering and performing interesting repertoire that is not widely known. She studied voice with Suzanne Johnston at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, attaining a Bachelor of Music (Degree with Honours) in Performance. During her six years with the Choir of Trinity College, Melbourne, the choir recorded four albums and toured to Europe, the UK, the USA, and Canada. In 2022, Emma has taken part in the inaugural Apprentice Program with The Song Company, Australia's national vocal ensemble, including performances of Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem, Brumel’s 12-part Missa Et ecce terrae motus from the original notation, and an abridged version of Antony Pitts’s Jerusalem–Yerushalayim oratorio at the Australian Jewish Choral Festival. She has also performed as a soloist in the St John’s Southgate Bach Cantata Program, and given solo recitals in the St Paul’s Cathedral Lunchtime Concert Series and at the Austral Salon. Emma is currently the Leading Musician at St Paul's Cathedral, where she sings in weekly services, and a Deputy Soloist at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Melbourne. She also sings with chamber choir Ensemble Gombert and vocal ensemble Alchemy, and teaches singing and piano.
